T 'Ales From The Dark Side
Beer Festival
25th - 29th January 2010

Another season, another festival.
I love my job!

The theme for this one is
" t' Ales From The Dark Side "

As it is Winter, I thought immediately of
luscious dark warming beers. Then I
remembered that some silly people will just
not try a dark beer. This is pure madness in
my humble opinion. The depth and layering of
flavour you find in a dark beer is just so
satisfying.

So I needed to find a theme that would allow
me to have a lot of dark beers and the
flexibility for some other styles also.

" T ' Ales from the Dark Side " invokes dark
beers and Star Wars (or outer space) !!
(We do like very tenuous links)

So, we have breweries like
"Dark Star" and "Black Hole", beers like
"Stargazer" and "Rocket Fuel".......see wot we
dun!

But this is mainly about dark beers, milds,
stouts, porters, old ales.

Also we have managed to get hold of a cask
of "Motley Brew" from Otley brewery. This has
nothing to do with the theme, but just because
I can.
